The Rich Guzzi 2004 Self Help Tour
is coming to town. As a veteran comic and national radio personality, Rich is taking his
high-powered stage show performances to the next level.
For more than a decade, headlining
comedian Guzzi continued to hone his craft, as he morphed into hosting highly entertaining
hypnosis shows. Due to the popularity of this vehicle, audiences whole-heartedly volunteer
to participate. The natural progression is now taking shape. Rich is utilizing his talents
to help people tackle one of life’s most common addictions – smoking.
"I am a non-smoker, and I have
to work in smoke filled rooms almost every night," says Guzzi. "This is becoming
increasingly more difficult because now I have developed an allergy to cigarette
smoke."
We all know the dangers of cigarette
smoke, and clearly there are countless people who will try almost anything to quit. By
balancing self-help material, audience hypnosis and humor, Rich has a goal – to get
100,000 people to kick the habit. In his view, if the average person smokes a pack to a
pack and a half a day, that’s roughly $2,500 a year. Multiply that by 100,000, and
we’re looking at $250 million less in the cigarette company coffers.
Guzzi equates this to David and
Goliath. "One man taking on big tobacco… why not?" By performing in about
100 cities per year, Rich could potentially have 1,000 people in each city turn out to
witness and participate in his motivational crusade. Suddenly 100,000 doesn’t seem so
big a number, and Rich feels confident he can achieve it.
After these shows, Rich also
conducts seminars on such topics as weight loss and stress reduction. And this is only the
beginning. Rich plans to launch a ‘stop smoking’ hypnosis CD that can be
obtained on his web site for free. He is also writing a self-help book of his own and is
currently working on a comedy screenplay about motivational speakers.

Rich Guzzi is all New York, all the
time. With a brash swagger that controls the room, there is no mistaking his upbringing as
soon as he opens his mouth.
More than just the class clown,
Guzzi had a knack early on for soliciting laughter through his well-executed quips and
anecdotes. It was this gift that would ultimately propel him to climb on stage and perform
like he was shot out of a cannon and then hit the crowd with rapid-fire jokes as if they
were loaded into a machine gun.

radio, Guzzi has mastered the art with style and substance – especially now, as he

Never one to settle, Guzzi continues
to expand his repertoire by appealing to the masses as a blue-collar self-help guy.
Rich’s material is definitely real-life, and he considers himself a cross between
Tony Robbins and Tony Soprano. This venue is a hybrid of his mesmerizing hypnosis,
